At-Home Craft: Make Your Own Bass

It’s craft time! Join Sarah from the Seattle Symphony’s Education & Community Engagement team as she shows you how to make your own bass.

What you’ll need

  • Bass template
  • Coloring supplies
  • 4 strips of string, each 8 inches long
  • A paper straw or popsicle stick
  • Scissors
  • Tape
 

Steps to make your instrument

  • Print the bass template
  • Color your bass
  • Cut out the bass from the page
  • Tape your four strings to the top of the bass near the scroll, and again at the bottom of the bass on the tailpiece
  • Take your straw and play it like a bow across your bass strings!
