Seattle Symphony Principal Bassoon Seth Krimsky opens the concert with the rhythmic and joyous Malambo by Miguel Del Águila, inspired by the Malambo dance of the South American gauchos. Then, making his Seattle Symphony debut, Francesco Lecce-Chong conducts the orchestra in Beethoven’s “Pastoral” Symphony which captures the composer’s love of nature and the Viennese countryside.
Join the Seattle Symphony to celebrate the final Delta Air Lines Masterworks concert of the 2020–2021 season! The concert opens with Seattle Symphony Principal Tuba John DiCesare taking center stage to perform Arild Plau’s Tuba Concerto. Then, under the baton of guest conductor Thomas Wilkins, the Symphony performs Beethoven’s famed and celebrated “Eroica” Symphony.
