First Concerts: Meet the Cello

Meet the cello in Octave 9! Seattle Symphony cellist, Nathan Chan will perform short pieces and invite questions from curious little ones. Children will learn how to be musical explorers and try out the featured instruments after the show. 

Pre-concert activities begin 30 minutes prior to each performance. Free with ticket purchase.

Nathan Chan

Cello

Cellist Nathan Chan made his musical debut at age 3 conducting the San Jose Chamber Orchestra. He has performed as a soloist with the San Francisco Symphony, The Royal Philharmonic and the Albany Symphony, among others. In 2015 Chan was a chosen artist for Fondation Louis Vuitton's Classe d'Excellence du Violoncelle with renowned cellist Gautier Capuçon. Nathan earned his bachelor’s degree from Columbia University and has a growing internet presence with over 6.1 million views. Nathan studied with Richard Aaron at The Juilliard School, where he recently earned his Master of Music.
