Second Violin

Evan Anderson began playing violin at age 4 as a Suzuki student. As a teenager, he furthered his studies with Sally O’Reilly, Professor of Violin at the University of Minnesota. Anderson earned a Bachelor of Music from the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria, as a student of Yair Kless. He earned his Master of Music in the Manhattan School of Music’s groundbreaking Orchestral Performance program, studying under New York Philharmonic Concertmaster Glenn Dicterow. Anderson first came to Seattle as a freelance musician in 2006. He began his relationship with the Orchestra as a substitute violinist, and then as a contracted member of the first violin section for a season. Since 2009 he has been a proud member of the Symphony’s second violin section.
