Birth of the Cool
April 17 at 7:30pm

Miles Davis' classic 1949 "Birth of the Cool" album was a major development in post-bebop jazz. Don't miss this rare performance of great jazz from this iconic recording, played by an all-star nonet drawn from the SRJO.

June 19 at 4pm

These free events provide children and youth with a rare opportunity to hear jazz performed live in an excellent concert hall.

Duke Ellington's
"Far East Suite"

June 19 at 7:30pm

"Far East Suite" was composed by Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn for the Ellington band's historic State Department tours. The suite includes enchanting pieces inspired by scenes and cities throughout the Middle and Far East where they toured.

All concerts are held in the Illsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall at Benaroya Hall.

Tour the Hall!

Free public tours are held Tuesdays and Fridays at noon and 1pm. Tours also are offered in conjunction with Watjen Concert Organ Recital–Demonstrations.

Please meet your tour guide in front of the Grand Lobby entrance in The Boeing Company Gallery at the corner of Third Avenue and University Street.
